
Have you heard of off-road forklifts? Many people probably haven't, and they might ask, "I've heard of off-road motorcycles, but can there be off-road forklifts?" Electric forklift manufacturers have provided us with the answer: yes. But how is it different from the common forklifts we usually see? What about its cost-effectiveness? These are the questions we'd like to explore. In fact, the performance of off-road forklifts differs significantly from that of ordinary forklifts. Off-road forklifts are also vehicles produced later, and their nature and functionality naturally extend beyond those of standard forklifts.
First, the drive system of off-road forklifts differs significantly from that of conventional forklifts. As we all know, the drive system is a crucial characteristic of a vehicle. Our off-road forklift features a high chassis with four-wheel (single or double row) four-wheel drive, offering excellent off-road capability and full-wheel drive. There is no differential between the axles, and it is equipped with large-diameter, wide-base off-road tires. The vehicle has a ground clearance of over 300mm and a departure angle exceeding 30°. The high chassis and large tires are designed to handle various complex terrain conditions, making it suitable for outdoor use. In contrast, conventional forklifts are rigid, with the front wheels as the drive wheels and the rear wheels as the steering wheels, lacking off-road performance. They have a low chassis and a compact body, typically used in workshops, factories, or areas with well-developed infrastructure. Electric forklift manufacturers emphasize that, in general, four-wheel-drive off-road forklifts are better suited for external operations, while conventional forklifts are more suitable for internal use.
In fact, it is modified by the loader. The difference between all-terrain forklifts and ordinary forklifts lies in the fact that all-terrain forklifts have superior off-road performance and greater horsepower compared to ordinary forklifts, primarily addressing challenges such as climbing hills and driving on muddy roads. Electric forklift manufacturers remind us that all-terrain forklifts further enhance performance in outdoor and wild environments, significantly altering the limitations of ordinary forklifts in such conditions.
Regardless of the model of forklift, the selection should be based on the actual scenario and application to choose a vehicle that suits our needs. This is the same as when we purchase any item—we must choose what fits us, without seeking something that exceeds our practical requirements.
